On 11 May 2026, the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) co-organised the #RidingTheWave event, bringing together policymakers, researchers, innovators, and industry leaders from across Europe to discuss the future of the blue economy and ocean innovation.
During the event, CMMI showcased ATALANTA project at its exhibition booth, generating engaging discussions around women’s empowerment in the maritime sector, gender inclusivity, and the importance of increasing female participation in blue economy careers and leadership positions.
The event offered an excellent platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among stakeholders working towards a more sustainable and innovative maritime future. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about ATALANTA’s vision, objectives, and ongoing activities aimed at supporting equality, diversity, and inclusion across the marine and maritime sectors.
Through its participation, ATALANTA further strengthened its visibility within the European blue economy ecosystem, while contributing to ongoing discussions on inclusive growth, skills development, and the future of women in maritime and ocean-related professions.
